We’ve got AMAZING news from the H.S.A! The Hive Jump team at Graphite Lab has made progress since the last update! More info below!
Wii U fans: Load up. You are shipping out!
Our last update explained some of the issues we faced with our various runs through certification. We’re happy to share that we’ve fixed those issues (and a few more that we’d uncovered along the way). We received the glorious nod of APPROVAL from Nintendo and we’re now locking in launch dates, store graphics and more!
Curious about Wii U features? Check out the March update!
We’ll be doing more regular updates over the next few weeks as we lead up to Wii U launch. Expect news next week revealing the precise launch day, time and more! Thanks again to all of our Wii U backers who were patiently waiting to deploy. Your time is neigh!
You know, we got a lot of feedback telling us to give up on the Wii U version. With the Switch release being so successful, it may have seemed like a better move to pull a “switch’em” (pun intended) and change platforms. Why didn’t we? Because we know there are still over 800 of you that are excited to get your Hive Jump keys on Wii U and we didn’t want to let you down. We want to see you jumping hives and blasting bugs with the rest of the backers.
Will we bring Hive Jump to Switch? We don’t yet know. Our next item of business is to get you some physical rewards that we owe ya!
Oh! Can we clear up one more thing?
“Developer stated that no major updates or changes will happen to the game in future.”
Let’s change this statement to “Developer hasn’t announced any major updates at this time” We’ve stated that the game is content complete and that we didn’t have any other planned updates to announce. However, after we make good on our commitments to you, our backers, other paths for Hive Jump may open up.
Sorry if that wasn’t clear – and while there isn’t a major update “right around the corner” or anything it doesn’t mean the book is permanently closed on Hive Jump.
PAX WEST | Seattle, WA Sept 1
Well, sort of! We won’t be showing Hive Jump on the floor at PAX, but we are going to be part of PAX West Week MIX Indie Game Showcase! If you are going to be in Seattle for PAX don’t miss this awesome event and be sure to give a high five to lead designer Matt Donatelli (@mattdonatelli ) who will be on site with the game!
XPO Game Festival | Tulsa, OK October 13 – 15
We’re going to the XPO Game Festival in Tulsa, OK later this fall! We’ll be joined by several other St Louis Game Developers in the Indie Alley. It will be an awesome opportunity to jam with our midwest gamedev buddies and recruit new jumpers! Studio Director Matt Raithel (@raitheoshow) will be giving a talk about starting and maintaining an indie development studio as part of the speaker series.
